Here’s how you can help…
The Bakas “Horses for Handicapped” program at the Bakas Equestrian Center continues to grow at an amazing rate. Maintaining the equestrian center is a very expensive and time consuming task. A program such as this one cannot be made successful without help from area businesses and individuals. Donations of money, supplies, and time is critical to the ongoing success of the program and can be made through the Bakas “Horses for Handicapped, Inc.” non profit, a 501(c)3 organization as recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.
You will feel great when you make your donation, because not one penny of your donation goes to paying for staff. 100% of every donation goes directly to benefit the Bakas program, either to pay for on-going expenses or for fund raising efforts that further leverage your generous donation.

Fund-raisers organized by Bakas vary from music festivals to motorcycle rallies. Our biggest event is in the fall with our annual 5K Trail Run. Monetary and in-kind contributions are appreciated. Contributions go directly to the Bakas “Horses for Handicapped” program for the purchase of equipment, saddles, riding apparel and organizing special events.

Office equipment
Office supplies (paper, sharpies, dry erase markers, post-it note pads, ink pens, pencils, clip boards, poster boards, etc)
Landscaping (plants, mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
Matching funds for employees’ donation of volunteer time
Horse sponsorship ($3,500 per year or $250 per Month) - No minimum requirement for monthly sponsorships
5K sponsorships, items, services, and representation at the event itself
Individuals can donate:
Monetary donations in any amount accepted and appreciated
Cleaning supplies (bleach, laundry soap, lysol disinfectant spray, window cleaner, bathroom cleaner, dish soap, pine sol, listerine, 50 gallon & tall kitchen trash bags)
Horses and gently used tack - Please contact Bakas directly for information/current needs
Horse sponsorship ($3500 per year or $250 per Month) -No minimum requirement for monthly sponsorships
Volunteer time
Supplies for special events and for the barn (toilet paper, paper plates, paper towels, solo cups, plastic dinner ware, iced tea, lemonade, juice bags/boxes, snacks, baby wipes, hand soap in pump dispensers, raffle items and gift cards for events)
Supplies for horses (avon skin so soft bath oil, dollar general diaper rash ointment (ingredients should contain a minimum of 40% zinc oxide), baby shampoo, carrots and apples, hair detangler, gift cards to local tack stores, old towels)
Holiday decorations (for special events)
All businesses or individuals donating a substantial amount will receive recognition on a plaque displayed at the center.
Horse Sponsorship – $3,500 per year
Provides feed, vet and farrier services for one horse.
Rider’s Club Sponsorship – $500 per year
Provides rider’s apparel, class fees and special equipment
Bunk Houses – $50,000
