 FAQs for New Rider Applicants

What type of riding lessons does Bakas provide?

We provide a variety of riding experiences within many different disciplines including general English riding, English and Western Dressage, Western Pleasure, Competitive Trail and Western Gaming. We can also provide therapeutic riding lessons focused on the rider’s needs to develop balance, independence, core strength, improved flexibility, listening and behavioral skills, and much more! We are able to tailor riding lessons to each individual’s needs and goals.

Can you accommodate riders who use wheelchairs or walkers for mobility?

Yes we can! We have an electric ramp lift that we can raise and lower in order to accommodate the horse and. From there, our staff is trained to safely assist or lift riders onto the horse.

How much do lessons cost and how often can riders ride?

Our lesson schedule typically runs in 4 week sessions where riders ride once a week. Lessons are $10 a piece, payable in check or money order, and the entire session is due in full on the first lesson day of the session. We ask that riders pay for the entire session, even if they have to miss a lesson, in order to guarantee their spot. We have a hefty waiting list and riders with frequent no-shows or cancellations will be removed from the schedule with no refund provided. We offer both weekday morning and afternoon lessons as well as Saturday morning lessons.

I would like to stop by for a tour or to pick up a rider application. What are the hours of operation?

Feel free to stop by anytime between 8:00am - 3:30pm, seven days a week. Our staff will gladly provide a tour and any paperwork you need!
